Snow Camping

Nate and the scouts had been waiting all winter for the perfect weekend to go snow camping.  Sometime in January that opportunity came.  They watched the weather reports and made the decision to go on a Thursday.  Some quick preparation and they were off!  They were able to build a snow fort that fit all 8 boys inside!  Pretty cool!  The boys were toasty warm in there--to the point of sweating!  Nate and a couple leaders slept in a trench outside.  There was even a puddle of water underneath Nate when he woke up, but thanks to good gear, he was dry.  I'm grateful for my husbands dedication to his calling as scout master--and grateful to know he is here to help us be prepared as a family as well.
