Safe & Sound

Well, as you may have noticed...our Sentra is no longer a loner in the parking lot. Our little civic has come home to us. We got a call on Thursday night that our Civic had been found abandoned about 5 miles from our house. That's the good news. The bad news is the tow company so graciously took it to their place about 30 miles from our house. So we made the trek into downtown Phoenix, paid the man 100 bucks, and took our poor little car back home. We were anxious to see what kind of damage had been done. To our surprise, everything was pretty much left as it was. Unfortunately, our stereo was gone, again...this time the thief did a nice job of taking it out though, and left the dashboard intact. Our GPS system was gone (no surprise there). But the saddest part of all...they took a liking to our jeans blanket and it was gone too! Seriously. I was shocked. They left other random crap in the car...but they had to take the blanket. So disappointing. But nevertheless, we are grateful that we got our car back and that it still drives and all. It saves us the headache of having to find a new car. I just can't help but feel like it may not be the last time we lose our civic. But for now...we are back up to being a two car family again. Just wanted to let you all know.

Hey Jess, Glad they found your car. SAd they took your blanket:( This is Chelsey (BYU nursing Chelsey). I've been keeping up with your goings-on. I love that you live in AZ, that's where I served my mission:) and even the backgrounds to some of your photos send me back. I know it's hard adjusting to a new place! But now that Kevin and I may be moving on this next year (and will definitely be moving on to UNC in 2010) we are sad to be leaving here, which seriously NEVER seemed like it would be home!!!!!!! Then again, we never got our car stolen here. Just kidding. But I am kinda shocked it hasn't been stolen. We live in a sketchy area. Anyway, Goodspeed with your pregnancy, hope everything goes picture perfect for you guys! Feel free to check out our blog, if you haven't already, at www.kevandchels.blogspot.com.

They took the blanket? Seriously car-thieves? You took a GPS, Stereo, and a jeans blanket? Seriously? How much do they think that is going to fetch on craigslist? Seriously. I'm glad your car is back at least.

So lame that they took the blanket!! I mean come on!! Maybe Ashton's on to something. Keep your eye out on craigslist...maybe you'll see it and you can still get it back! Haha, wouldn't that be funny?

So sorry about your belongings being stollen! I bet that jeans blanket sure was priceless! But that is a miracle that you got your car back. We had someone sideswipe our car a couple times here in Cincy. One of them was a hit-and-run, but the other was our neighbor and he came and apologized to us (and paid for the damage)!
